Educators from five European countries gathered 25-27 March 2025  in Delft for the first in-person ROBINTECH Teacher Seminar, marking a major step forward in the development of cutting-edge robotics education. After months of virtual collaboration, teachers from Estonia, Finland, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands came together to co-create teaching modules and align on shared educational goals.

The three-day event kicked off with in-depth presentations by Niina Nissinen (OSAO) and Teresa Lessa Santos (Forave), focusing on teacher competencies and existing robotics curricula. Participants then toured The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Mondriaan’s Betafactory, a hub for hands-on, project-based technical education.

A major milestone of the meetup was the collaborative session on defining quality standards for learning materials. Using the Learning Object Review Instrument (LORI), the group identified key criteria such as interaction, accessibility, and flexibility—laying the foundation for the ROBINTECH modules to come.

On the second day, the focus shifted to designing these modules. Guided by Miriam Krol and Marjolein van Daalen (ROC Mondriaan), educators developed a shared understanding of what a teaching module entails and began creating a flexible blueprint that each partner institution can adapt to its curriculum.

Industry visits further grounded the educational goals in real-world relevance. At Infinite Acres, participants explored how robotics and automation are revolutionizing vertical farming. At Airborne, they gained insights into composite manufacturing and robotic automation in aerospace production.

The final day centered on future planning. New module topics were confirmed, including robotic welding, machine vision, and the interaction between robots and CNC machines. Plans were also set for a hands-on training seminar in Oulu.

The event concluded with a visit to SAM XL, where participants learned about advanced manufacturing automation and robotics, including real-life applications of large-scale production technologies.

With clear goals, strong partnerships, and a shared vision, the ROBINTECH team is well on its way to shaping the future of vocational robotics education in Europe. Many thanbks to ROC Mondriaan team for hosting the teachers seminar.
