Making VET Mobility Inclusive: research report is published
IMVET project partners published a research report, to shed light on the challenges VET students with disabilities in international mobility.
The report, titled “Inclusive Mobilities for VET Students with a Disability,” explores the barriers that VET students with disabilities face when participating in international mobility programs, such as internships or study visits abroad. Based on an extensive literature review and focus group research across five countries—Estonia, Greece, Spain, Finland, and the Netherlands—the report also highlights the needs and challenges experienced by VET professionals in organizing accessible mobilities.
Key findings reveal that students with disabilities continue to be underrepresented in mobility programs, despite the immense personal and professional benefits these experiences can offer. Challenges range from a lack of accessible information and funding to difficulties in finding inclusive host organizations and ensuring appropriate guidance. However, the report also shows that with targeted preparation and support, mobility abroad is both possible and highly rewarding for all students.
