Natural materials in interior decoration course

Would you like to know how to create beautiful, healthy interiors using natural materials? This course will introduce you to the art of interior decoration with eco-friendly materials such as natural clay or lime-based plasters and paints.  Through practical guidance and creative inspiration, you’ll learn how to design sustainable interiors that are both stylish and environmentally responsible.  

The course is inteded for interior decorators/painter/plasterer students (level 4) and it will be held in the English language.

Lasting ten days, you learn:

  • specific vocabulary  in  English for the course

  • basic principles of  natural materials commonly used in interior decoration, such as clay, lime and natural pigments

  • prepare natural clay and lime plasters for application on interior walls and surfaces

  • use basic tools and techniques for applying plasters, textures, and decorative finishes

  • design and complete a small-scale interior decoration project using natural materials

  • environmental impact of building materials and sustainable solutions.

The entire course is structured  combining active learning method  and practical hands-on tasks. It includes also a study visit to the company that produces natural products for interior decoration, school lunches and cultural activities in Tartu.

The participation in the program could be financed by Erasmus+ programme as mobility (VET learners traineeships in vocational institutions abroad).

Teacher Signe Pugal  is a vocational teacher, internship supervisor and adult educator at Tartu Vocational College. She´s passion is natural materials in interior design and decoration.

The program costs 360€ per student and it includes:

  • Ten days training at our college and study visit(s) to a business company
  • School lunches
  • Welcome dinner and farewell snacks
  • Cultural activities – city sightseeing and culture programme in Tartu

The course fee can be financed by Erasmus+ programme as mobility (VET learners traineeships in vocational institutions abroad).

In addition we recommend reasonable accommodation  in our student hotel (twin rooms or apartment type rooms where there is also a kitchenette) that situates conveniently at the school campus.  One night in a twin room costs about 30 EUR (breakfast included).
