Focus on Strengths and Growth to improve VET curricula (FoSterGrowth)
The FoSterGrowth project modernizes vocational education and training (VET) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) to bridge the growing tech talent shortage. By developing a new “Electronic Systems Technician Curriculum” (EQF level 4), we align educational standards with real-world labor market needs.
Objectives:
The primary focus of the FoSterGrowth project is to create a system for VET curricula development in several steps including skills competitions and transnational work-based learning internships. It will concentrate on electrical and electronics engineering (EEE) domain which presents significant growth opportunities and demand for employees. The ultimate result of the FoSterGrowth project is to create a synergy in the “VET ecosystem” to support education of the youth who chooses skilled careers
Main activities:
FoSterGrowth project will respond to the tech talent shortage with its core product – the Electronic Systems Technician Curriculum. Project activities include vocational skills competitions and transnational work-based learning internships which will let us utilize the principle of the knowledge triangle that integrates education, innovation and business creation considered key drivers of a knowledge-based society.
Expected results:
The intended result of the FoSterGrowth project is to determine the most important gaps between the learning process and skills required by the job market in the electronics domain and act upon them. To create a system for VET curricula development the project shall develop a skills gap analysis for the profession of Electronic Systems Technician EQF level 4, teaching resources, rules of procedure for skills competitions, and training programs for transnational internships.
