The illustrated multilingual gastronomy dictionary has officially launched, offering an invaluable tool for culinary professionals, students, and enthusiasts aiming to master English in the gastronomy sector. Featuring over 800 culinary vocabulary terms with vivid illustrations and translations in English, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, and Ukrainian, this platform addresses the growing demand for English language proficiency in Europe’s diverse culinary landscape.

This innovative development is a direct outcome of the Erasmus+ cooperation project “Boosting Culinary Education and Training.” The primary goal of this project is to enhance the gastronomy curricula of participating schools by incorporating the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology. This involves seamlessly integrating professional English language training into vocational subjects and offering new opportunities for professional development in culinary education.

In a crucial next phase, the platform will integrate professionally designed learning materials built upon this CLIL approach. This will allow users to simultaneously develop their English language skills and deepen their understanding of culinary concepts, ensuring precise and efficient communication in multicultural hospitality environments and contributing to the project’s aim of producing highly competitive professionals for the European labour market.
